(NCKMAA)
After Professor Cerio passed away in 1998, the NCK system started to receive steady inquiries from people wanting to join the systm and for the potential of future rank promotion. It was decided in 2001, that NCK would form the NCK Martial Arts Association (NCKMAA) to open the doors for these people to train with an NCK instructor while NCK observed and tested them with Professor Cerio's Principles of Conduct. This would give the potential student access to NCK Instructors and system concepts while allowing NCK to protect Professor Cerio's name and reputation from people trying to use both for their own gain.
However, the implementation of the NCKMAA had many barriers to overcome. Thus, a decision was made to allow NCK and non-NCK students to buy the NCKMAA patch as a way to show their respect to Professor Cerio. Thus the patch became known as the 'Memory Patch'.
